Mesa/Boogie Stiletto Traditional v.s. Rectifier Standard (Over-sized) Slant cabinets

Here is the comparison review of TWO Mesa/Boogie Slant cabinets.
Both cabinets are equipped with UK/British made Celestion Vintage 30 speakers.
I have China made Vintage 30 speakers, maybe I should compare both of them another day.

Rectifier Standard (Over-sized) Slant cabinet is on the left side.
And Stiletto Traditional Slant cabinet with silver color pipping is on the right side.

Prior to 2005, there used to be two Rectifier 4x12" cabinets -
Rectifier Traditional and Rectifier Standard cabinet.
Rectifier Traditional cabinet looks more towards to "Marshall-Sized" cabinet dimension,
and Rectifier Standard cabinet is an "Over-Sized" cabinet which has bigger dimension.

Around year 2005, Mesa/Boogie renamed the "Rectifier Traditional" cabinet as "Stiletto Traditional" cabinet
and keep Rectifier Standard (Over-sized) cabinet become as the only Rectifier cabinet today.
The size of Road king cabinet is same as Rectifier Standard (Over-sized) cabinet,
but Road king cabinet has V30/C90 speakers combination and semi-opened back design.
The volume of Roadster cabinet is smaller which is same as Stiletto cabinet,
but Mesa/Boogie doesn't offer 4x12" Roadster cabinet, so 2x12" cabinets only.

Stiletto Traditional cabinet dimension - 76.8cm H x 75.88cm W x 36.20cm D
Rectifier Standard (Over-sized) cabinet dimension - 83.5cm H x 76.52cm W x 36.20cm D
Stiletto Traditional cabinet is much smaller than Rectifier cabinet.
For the performance wise, these two cabinets have very obvious difference
in terms of sound and dynamics comparison.

The Rectifier Standard (Over-sized) cabinet:
1) Huge bottom end.
2) More details in high frequency.
3) Brighter.
4) Slightly mid-scooped
5) "Saggy" feel response.

The Stiletto Traditional cabinet:
1) Much tighter and faster picking response.
2) Darker and warmer.
3) More mid frequency.

Below is the comparison video clip for these TWO Mesa/Boogie cabinets.

  2. Man, I heard both- they both sound great but the Stiletto cabs seem to have more definition and better treble. I suppose the easy solution is to buy both and use them in a stack. How can you pick just one?
